Salmon has played a major helping Anglian Water streamline services and introduce new applications to support the company’s existing business and exploit new opportunities across regulated and non-regulated operations.

For the 3-year period 1992 – 1995, Salmon held a direct business relationship with Anglian Water supplying resources on a fixed price contractual basis focused upon the company’s billing system. After this time, Salmon was retained by CSC, who recognised the value of Salmon’s knowledge and experience of Anglian Water’s billing systems and previous work relating to RIMS (Regional Income Management System).

Salmon will help us take our web business to a new level and will further reinforce our position as one of the UK's most successful multi-channel retailers. We chose Salmon due to their credible track record in delivering e-commerce solutions and their impressive approach to delivery. We are confident that these attributes will be key in the site achieving our main objectives, namely to increase conversion, enhance our merchandising and technical capabilities and deliver a better service to our customers.

Jacqueline Gold, Ann Summers Chief Executive

Salmon’s strong software and services partnership with IBM, together with Salmon's reputation for delivering next generation e-commerce sites for a fixed price gave us tremendous confidence when embarking on this initiative.

Gareth Hill, IS Director of Arcadia

Argos' website, developed with and supported by Salmon has been ranked as the second most popular website in the UK, according to IMRG (Interactive Media in Retail Group) and their Hitwise Hot Shops List* which ranks the top 50 UK e-retailers by number of visits.

We have been working with Argos since 2002 and in this time we have developed and enhanced their eCommerce website. We have provided around the clock, service level based application support service and delivered many ongoing enhancements. In addition, we have also worked with other Home Retail Group brands including Homebase and Argos Financial Services.

SAFE™ was affordable, fast to implement and supported our multiple brands. Its “out of the box” functionality met all of our requirements, supporting our online needs as well as giving us complete control over our eCommerce environment.  We now have a scalable platform in place that meets our customers’ desires now and will cope with increasing levels of traffic and our changing business needs in the future.

Ken Platt, E-Commerce Manager

Salmon have developed solutions for Barratts, Priceless Shoes, Discount Shoe Store, Petitfeet, Big Shoe Boutique and Nineteen Twentyone.

We know our customers want a quick, simple checkout, delivery options that suit them and to feel part of a community online. This is the first stage in an exciting period of development for Boots' online presence and we are committed to delivering customers a multi-channel shopping experience. There are many more exciting developments planned over the next few months including the launch of a ‘buy online and collect in store' service, further developments in health advice and information, and online communities for our customers.

Tim Stacey, Director of Boots.com

Salmon implemented a new online store for City Beach, Australia’s largest surf, skate and lifestyle fashion retailer, with over 55 stores across Australia. The new website was developed using SAFE™, providing City Beach with the scalable infrastructure needed to become a true multi-channel, multi-national business

As an essential tool for corporate communications both externally and internally, it is vital to us that this portal contains up-to-date and managed content. Salmon has ensured that we have met all our requirements and we were impressed with the company's ability to deliver against a fixed price and on time. We feel they fully mitigated the risk of the project and we would readily consider using Salmon again.

Dawn O'Shaughnessy, Communications Manager, Dixons Group

"We chose Salmon and SAFI™ to help radically streamline our end-to-end business processes in Europe.  We wanted to ensure low fixed costs associated to I.T. operations and yet increase our overall business agility.  By choosing SAFI™ we will meet these aims and also be able to launch new products more quickly, eliminating traditional paper based processes and removing the need to liaise with third party software providers to make changes to our platform.  We will additionally create policies and quotations dynamically whilst ensuring more effective reporting between our underwriters and brokers, and reporting to our carriers in a more timely and accurate manner. Each of the European offices has differing needs and SAFI™ allows the flexibility to implement different models for each office.”

Steve White, DUAL International

Salmon have implemented a new intelligent eCommerce website for Endsleigh Insurance Services Ltd, the number one student insurance provider. Endsleigh chose Salmon to ensure its customers benefit from a truly exceptional online experience that includes the ability to purchase insurance & financial products and services directly via the internet.

We are committed to providing a leading shopping experience and Salmon has been instrumental in this process.  We have worked with Salmon to evolve Halfords.com in accordance with our customers’ shopping habits and to ensure that our online offering is reflective of our customers’ expectations.  This investment has centred on improving search, convenience, service; and cross-channel optimisation.

Steve Lowe, Head of Service and Channel Development, Halfords

We needed a solution that was quick to implement, will scale to meet customer needs as our online business grows and provide all the tools necessary for online marketing and promotion of our brands.  Salmon introduced their eCommerce framework called SAFE™ (“Salmon Application Framework for eCommerce”), their eCommerce team and IBM WebSphere Commerce, and they collectively ticked all the boxes.

Chris Bulmer, Group IT Director

Salmon was instrumental in allowing us to meet two aims. Firstly we wanted to implement a packaged solution in a specific timeframe. Secondly we wanted the solution to meet more specific needs, such as support for multi-languages and access via a standard web browser. Salmon not only showed itself to be very flexible in its approach to support these aims, but very adept at negating risk on our behalf by working directly with Relavis to ensure the software worked, and was delivered against the specific brief.

Patrick Riley, Senior Vice President for business development, Interface

We have been working with Home Retail Group Argos since 2002. In this time we have completely re-developed and enhanced the eCommerce website for Homebase.

We have provided around the clock, service level based application support service and delivered many ongoing enhancements. In addition, we have also worked with other Home Retail Group brands including Argos and Argos Financial Services.

Salmon communication was good, their project management was good and the phases that the project was managed in were good. Where deliverables or milestones from 3rd parties were late or delayed, Salmon juggled the plan and actually helped us pull time back that had been lost. The project still came in on time and on budget which was no mean feat, and in the end the project went live to the hour, which was a phenomenal achievement.

Jo Upton, E-Business Manager for UK & Ireland Business, ICI Paints

Our online business accounts for 80% of our revenues and our plans for growth are aggressive.  We replaced our existing platform with SAFE™ as we needed to obtain control of our eCommerce business.  Our online plans are sophisticated and we need to address our requirements with a higher degree of autonomy, flexibility and responsiveness to change.

Scott Weavers-Wright, Partner, Kiddicare

Manchester Airport turned to Salmon to transform the way it tracked customer activity.  The new system will improve efficiency within Manchester Airport's sales cycle. This will enable better informed decision-making for the airport, which promotes flight routes to airlines, sells retail space and manages relationships with numerous external suppliers, airlines, handling agents, media contacts, and government representatives.

Hilary Liddell, IS Business Relationship Manager, Manchester Airport

Our solution was up and running within 6 weeks. Outsourcing to Salmon was very cost effective and one of the reasons we were so successful in our first year of trading.

Stephen Fookes, Head of IT, Novae

We were very impressed with Salmon’s credentials, they have a solid history of developing multi-channel websites for leading retailers and this experience along with their eCommerce solution, which leverages IBM WebSphere Commerce made them the right eCommerce provider for us.  Salmon have designed, delivered and integrated our new website, and are actively helping us shape our multi-channel strategy. We are extremely happy with the results to date and we look forward to a continued partnership.

We agreed that Salmon would be the right company to go with in addition to being more cost-effective than a previous company we had approached, but which was unable to deliver the required guarantees for service. From the outset Salmon was very honest and transparent about delivering on time and to budget, which was important for us.

Andraes Loucaides, Founder, PRI

Its “out of the box” functionality met all of our requirements, supporting our online needs as well as giving us complete control over our eCommerce environment.  We now have a scalable platform in place that meets our customers’ desires now and will cope with increasing levels of traffic and our changing business needs in the future.

Ken Platt, E-Commerce Manager

Salmon have developed solutions for Barratts, Priceless Shoes, Discount Shoe Store, Petitfeet, Big Shoe Boutique and Nineteen Twentyone.

We didn’t have an infinite budget, and needed nine eCommerce websites to be developed under tight deadlines, without compromising on the areas we see as key, namely scalability, rich functionality, business-user control and, above all the ability to differentiate and deliver a great customer experience.

"SAFE™ and Salmon's track record in delivering eCommerce solutions on time and on budget helped us decide they were the right partner for us.  During the project they provided us with the perfect approach, a combination of software, services and consultancy meeting and exceeding our expectations.

Wendy Derbyshire, Director of eBusiness & IT

Upmarket department store Selfridges, founded in London in 1909 and now with branches in Manchester and Birmingham, launched its first full transactional website in 2010.  And, while Selfridges is a latecomer to the internet retailing revolution, its new online store - designed, developed, implemented and supported by Salmon - contains a range of leading-edge features.
Particular attention has been paid to delivering an online experience that is as close as possible to the in-store experience by, in particular, providing each brand with its own ‘room’ on the site. In these ‘brand boutiques’, says Selfridges, “international designers from every fashion capital invite you to explore their world with the latest promotions, look books and videos.”

Salmon did an excellent job in understanding our business, delivering a solution that matched our specific requirements and delivering a sophisticated new website in a very short time.  We have had a great response from customers who like the option of buying online when it suits them.  We are already beating forecasted sales and doing better than projected online, taking significant sales through the website in the first 2 weeks and we have no doubt that our eCommerce initiative will contribute to a significant portion of our revenue in 2009 and future revenue growth.

Chris Cucuzza, VP of Technology, Sleepy's
